Care Needs and Care Funding

Why you need an advocate at a care funding or care needs assessment meeting

The care and funding system is complicated, and it is difficult to understand the rules and procedures involved.

One of the main reasons for engaging an advocate in a meeting is to fully understand the practical and financial implications, procedures, and steps necessary to ensure adequate care and funding options.

This may involve an assessment and application for NHS Continuing Health Care Funding (CHC). This is a FREE form of funding, which is not means tested, and is determined by the health needs of the person in receipt of care.

Obtaining NHS CHC funding can save you thousands of pounds in care fees, but the assessment process is not straight forward and detailed preparation is vital.
